Used to love playing this game, glad to have it back. Is anyone else not having the group units shortcut not working? I can’t find documentation. If anyone knows the shortcuts or how to make them work, please email at sully <at> eastlink.ca Thanks!
I have a 27” mac. All the graphics seem “stretched” When I get into the battle the view seems too zoomed in making it hard to see who’s coming at you on the battlefield. I try zooming out but that is limited. I would like to be able to have a greater or more expanded view of the battle field
The gameplay works very well, but it is a shame to see the poor performance at times. I’m running a brand new macbook pro and there is still times where the framerate is certainly below 15FPS. Aside from that and the fullscreen issues that others have noted it works and plays well.
I got this title mixed up with another game in the C&C family: Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars. This version is not nearly as good as C&CTW. Though perhaps I would have found it better if I had known what I was getting. I’m done with it. I wish I could get my money back.
A good mac port of a great strategy game. I don’t think I’ll ever forgive EA for turning Generals 2 (which could’ve been an awesome sequel to this) into a free-to-play browser game.
This game was a classic for multiplayer matches at our house when I was growing up. Now I’m playing it with my son and he’s having a blast. The graphics look good and gameplay works as expected. My only complaint is that I’ve had two random crashes during multiplayer games. But seeing that it was only two of many, it hasn’t dampened the fun.
loved it way back when, still do. works fine in Yos
great game from days past, but can’t zoom out enough for it even to be playable. WTF?
A long time fav. My kids loved it, I loved it, glad to see its back, good call Aspyr.
I have played this game since its original release. Amazing game. It plays great on the mac and game centre multiplayer is easy and super fun! Now if Aspyr would only release C&C Red Alert 3 on the app store I would be overjoyed!
This game has no match making for multiplayer, wow, what a bad move. I do not want, nor should have to make friends using facbook and then add to Game Center to be able to do a multi player match. and when they will log off i need to then, make more firends, so basically i keep looking for poeple to play this game, WOW, disappointed...
Dock and menu bar appear when mouse hits the edge of the top or bottom of the screen. This is a known issue according to the FAQ which susggests that: "The dock and top bar are visible with scrolling due to Game Center notifications being enabled for the game. There is no way to disable that but recommend instead using your arrow keys to navigate the map”. Using the mouse to navigate the map is integral to any RTS and it’s ridiculous to suggest that players use arrow keys to navigate the map; it breaks the flow of the game to have to move your hand from your keyboard to mouse and back to perform basic actions. Please fix.
I love this franchise, I hope the others follow now. I ditched windows and dont regret that decision, especially now the games I enjoy are turning up on the app store
I loved playing this game in PC, when it first came out. I’m pleasantly surprised that the Apple app version is free of bugs, and provides the same fantastic replay value on my new computer.
Runs great, IF YOU WANT TO PLAY ONLINE YOU HAVE TO GO TO C&C Gnerals Mac App Players ON FACEBOOK, AND ADD PEOPLE MANUALLY IN GAME CENTER
Much beter than my ipad command and conquer. Has lots of strategy and lots of good weapons. There is also great grapichs
Generals is great glad to see it. What about the other great ones? C&C Red Alert 2, and Yuri’s Revenge?
This game was Command & Conquer at it’s finest, before the series fell off a cliff and became EA’s Tiberium Wars, only parreled by the Red Alert series by Westwood. This is classic Command and Conquer. While looking dated in 2015 it is full of nostalgia and plays like a dream on any modern PC. One of the best aspects of this game was the modding community that sprouted as a result, some are still maintained today. To install them Control Click the application and hit show package contents and drag and drop your mod files to the correct folder. This game definitly sparked my RTS itch and hope there’s more coming our way soon.
Game won’t load on OSX El Capitan. Company said they would resolve the issue promptly. El Capitan has been out for months and issue is still unresolved. Until it is, DO NOT BUY THIS GAME!
